“Ask and you shall receive”; well, not for Bradley Martyn. The American YouTuber and well-known fitness influencer has a new trend going on. Calling out all and sundry in the MMA world for a street fight, but in vain. Despite the 260-pound bodybuilder fumbling against a fan half his size in viral footage, he still keeps to it. The latest in his string of MMA targets is Merab Dvalishvili.
Martyn has squabbled with #6 135lber Marlon Vera, who savagely warned him off taking his face off. In his recent ‘Raw Talk‘ podcast episode with Bryce Hall, he rattled about challenging Logan Paul to an MMA fight. In the same segment, he also wished upon faring against #2 UFC bantamweight fighter Merab Dvalishvili. Concurrently, his wishes are answered. Taking to X, here’s what Dvalishvili wrote jestingly:
I wrestled with @BradleyMartyn and he wasn’t as strong as he looks. After I beat Henry Cejudo, me and Bradley Martyn will fight. I want to fight him more than I want to fight O’Malley.Merab Dvalishvili via X
In conjunction, the caption follows footage of him trying to grapple Bradley Martyn. Dvalishivilli, a friend and sparring partner of former champion, Aljamain Sterling, is renowned for his grappling prowess. But given the size difference and reach, Dvalishvili could hardly go for a leg takedown even. The video, in a club-like backdrop, shows even fans cheering the interaction.
Martyn’s hypotheticals to the likes of legendary Chuck Liddell and others have annoyed fans to no end. Even Justin Gaethje and Dan Hooker trolled him for challenging pro fighters. Martyn’s last callout to Dvalishivili naturally drew a flurry of backlashes on X. One fan had even gibed at him as “a long lost Paul brother” – calling out MMA fighters of different ages and build. Many have reacted on this one as well.
Fans react to Merab Dvalishvili’s new sparring attempt against 260lbs bodybuilder
Merab Dvalishvili is infamous in the MMA community circle for his awkward sense of humor. From stealing bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley‘s red jacket to taunting bantamweight peer’s careers in a funny skit. The fighter partakes in many hijinx even in live interviews.
Concurrently, one such hijinx sees him attempt a sparring attempt on bodybuilder, Bradley Martyn. Accordingly, here’s how fight fans have reacted to it –
Consequently, Dvalishvili meets former two-division champion Henry Cejudo next at UFC 298 on Feb. 17 from Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. Hence, accordingly, some fans have taken this chance to use this as a forum to diss the fighter on losing to Cejudo. However, most fans are moreover piqued at the bantamweight trying to duke it out with a person double his weight class. Additionally, though, some have asserted that he’d be able to do it.
Reacting to UFC 294’s short-notice switch, Khabib Nurmagomedov had once claimed “If King Kong can make 155, bring this guy” – for an Islam Makhachev-shaped face-off. Moreover, a fan has now similarly quoted this to hold for Dvalishvili as well.
While most times fans do not support Bradley Martyn’s random encounters and chances, this time is different. This time around, they are funnily split between the two.
