Many MMA veterans have already made the move to boxing, so it should not come as a surprise to witness more of them transitioning to the sport. The same thing happened recently with Darren Till.

Darren Till, a 30-year-old English fighter, has also decided to make the switch after parting ways with UFC earlier. Till faced a number of setbacks, including injections in his knee, and had also lost five out of his last six Octagon fights. Till’s release from UFC made it clear that a change was needed. Although fans were uncertain about his future plans after that, he has now revealed them.

Dana White revealed recently, “We have a great relationship with Darren Till. We like him and we respect him very much. Let me just put it to you this way, Darren Till is not the only guy that’s ever come to us and said, ‘I just can’t compete here anymore.’ He did ask for his release, and we did release him.”

“I don’t know what his plans are for outside the UFC, but he’s a guy we have a great relationship with, and we really like him and obviously. We wish him the best. If he gets to a level where he thinks he’s ready to come back to the UFC, then yeah, we’ll probably do it.”

Darren Till became successful in MMA because he was a great striker. His quick footwork and ability to deliver powerful punches with his left hand made him a challenging opponent for most fighters. And now he will test these in the boxing match.

“I just wanted to do this video as a little announcement just to confirm the rumors. I’ve never turned down a real challenge in my life. I’ve been in the UFC for many years. I’ve fought the best. I’ve beat the best. I’ve been defeated by the best. And that’s it. No f—ks given going into this boxing with the same mentality. Fight at any weight. Anyone. Anywhere. Doesn’t really matter.”

“I’m ready to come into this with a f—king massive bang and I can’t wait. Striking is my bread and butter so I’m supremely confident with whoever I’m going to be fighting. In the next few weeks I’ll have a massive announcement and I’m really looking forward to the future.”

“I’ve got a new opponent. Not said yet. I’ll tell you and we’ll bleep it,” he concluded. Till, who was on course to become the next big thing in British MMA, unfortunately, found himself at crossroads following a defeat against Tyron Woodley that spiralled his career down. The Englishman never really got back from that. Now, a switch to Boxing is certainly interesting.
