Ciryl Gane has previously imitated Nate Diaz just for the laughs, but now with his teammate fighting Sean Strickland – he wanted his teammate to be ready for the fight. Hence, imitated him.

Nassourdine Imavov was supposed to fight Strickland on short notice. With him having a very – unique – style of fighting, Gane decided to take matters into his own hands. How? By imitating his fighting style and making sure Imavov was ready for anything.

Gane isn’t scared to take the p**s when it comes to imitating opponents. He previously imitated Nate and now, Strickland. He does it rather perfectly, enough to make sure the fans don’t seem to take it in bad taste. Are the ones he is imitating taking it in good taste as well? That’s a separate issue.

Will Sean Strickland get a chance to avenge this insult? Maybe. With Strickland taking any fights at almost any weight class. It won’t be a surprise if he comes up to heavyweight to fight Ciryl Gane.

After defeating Nassourdine Imavov on a short notice fight, he seemingly made sure he won against Ciryl Gane as well – who was cornering Imavov. Chris Curtis who was also cornering Strickland seemed to have an altercation with Gane on the side.

With no clear conversation being heard between them, Strickland said that Curtis was screaming at Gane because the trash talk between them escalated. We’ll go meet that motherf***er [Gane] in the parking lot right now. F**k Ciryl Gane. Motherf***er, is he a Frenchy?, Strickland said. We’ll beat the motherf***er in the parking lot, kneecap his a**. Nah, motherf***ker, we will go kneecap him in the f***ing parking lot”, he added.

Did he actually “kneecap” Gane? No, obviously not. And with a championship fight coming up for Gane, he would hardly want any trouble right before his fight against Jon Jones. If he loses the fight, Strickland will make sure to kick the horse while it’s down.
