UFC star Conor McGregor and Jake Gyllenhaal are releasing a new movie in 2024. This movie has had fans on edge since it is the Irish superstar’s debut on the big screen. Meanwhile, netizens did not forget to take a dig at Gyllenhaal who is playing a fighter in the movie. Here is what happened:

Conor McGregor and Jake Gyllenhaal star in the 2024 movie Road House. The movie is a remake of the 1989 cult classic of the same name, starring Patrick Swayze. McGregor is making his Hollywood debut in the movie. He and Gyllenhaal became friends while filming. However, McGregor has said he’s not interested in pursuing acting.

The movie is about a former UFC fighter who takes a job as a bouncer at a roadhouse in the Florida Keys. The movie stars Jake Gyllenhaal as James Dalton, the former fighter, and Conor McGregor in a minor role. Amazon Prime Video will reportedly release the Road House remake. The movie was originally slated for a theatrical release, but Amazon decided to send it straight to streaming instead. Gyllenhaal and Doug Liman reportedly screened the movie for Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos on his yacht to change Amazon’s decision.

McGregor has not won a fight since defeating Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 four years ago. He won his two UFC titles at lightweight and featherweight, with his most recent bout against Poirier taking place at welterweight. McGregor broke his lower tibia and fibula during his fight against Dustin Poirier. Meanwhile, he has spent time recovering from his injury and training in Ireland. McGregor will now make a much-anticipated return in the summer of 2024.

Last year in March, Jake Gyllenhaal made a surprise appearance at UFC 285 to film scenes for the remake of Road House.
