Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya‘s debate doesn’t seem to come to an end even after the rematch. The two faced off against each other for the fourth time at UFC 288. Adesanya knocked down Pereira in the second round and secured his first win over the Poatan. Now both have waged war on Twitter.

Israel Adesanya started trolling Pereira immediately after winning the bout. His mockings over a knocked-down Pereira went viral on social media. Adesanya became active on Twitter proclaiming his win and sharing pictures of a knocked-out Pereira. Alex Pereira recently responded to Adesanya’s online slander by tweeting a highlight reel of all their fights together quoting, “We are the best. But I’m still better. Numbers don’t lie. 3:1.”

Adesanya responded a few days later tweeting, “It’s Quality over quantity over here. 3-1, you can keep that. Whatever helps you SLEEP at night…” To this Alex Pereira recounted all the previous matches where he had defeated ‘ The Last Stylebender’. “KO’d in Kick Boxing then helped into stretcher. Defeated in a decision. TKO’d in UFC. That’s more of a quality than 1 KO in UFC.”

Adesanya went on Instagram to address Pereira’s recent jab. “Lol. It was all fugazi,” Adesanya wrote on his Instagram story. Needless to say, none of the fighters are willing to back down. Though a trilogy fight would make sense in this case, since both have one win over one another and the hype is obviously there, this may not happen given that Pereira is reportedly moving to the light heavyweight division.

Although Alex Pereira has less than 10 UFC fights under his belt, he is already a big name in the promotion. Pereira stated that he has achieved all he wanted to achieve in the middleweight division and wishes to move to the light-heavyweight division. Pereira mentions that although he is moving up a weight class, he is open to coming back for a rematch with Adesanya anytime he wants to.

“I’m moving up a division now, and that’s my decision, but I’m sure that if I stayed in this division I can could fight him immediately. Let’s see how he behaves,Pereira said. Even though Alex Pereira isn’t a natural middleweight, he has never had a problem making weight, while he was in the division.

Pereira moving up the weight class could mean new exciting fights in the light-heavyweight division. The reigning champion Jamahal Hill may soon have to face ‘Poatan’ considering how quickly he climbed up the middleweight division.
