Even though he has only fought seven times in the UFC, he already became a two-division champion. Pereira came into the UFC as a two-division Glory Kickboxing champion. The UFC fast-tracked him into a title shot as he had a 2-0 record against the then-middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya.

Pereira was recently in Canada to watch UFC 297, headlined by Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis. Pereira was on the corner of Strickland but Du Plessis won the fight via split decision. In his last fight at UFC 295, Pereira got one of the loudest pops from the fans at the Madison Square Garden. Donald Trump was also in attendance at UFC 295 and Pereira’s reception at the arena was on par with Trump.

Fans speculate that Pereira will headline UFC 300. Magomed Ankalaev and Jamahal Hill are the potential opponents for him. Moreover, Dricus Du Plessis also hinted at his interest in fighting Pereira. The interim heavyweight champion, Tom Aspinall has also expressed his interest in fighting Pereira.

From there, he became a two-division kickboxing champion, after which, he fought in the UFC after a verbal taunt from Israel Adesanya.
