Alex “Poatan” Pereira bagged the vacant light heavyweight title over 29-4 Jiri Prochazka at UFC 295. This correspondingly makes the Brazilian the 9th two-division entrant as a titleholder. MMA enthusiasts have very recently exercised the notion of him being able to rise to heavyweight, for 3-division glory at UFC 300. With Tom Aspinall recalling a very recent encounter with “Poatan” sizing him up, fans have solidified the notion even more.
In the absence of heavyweight 27-1 Jon Jones, Aspinall holds the interim heavyweight gold. Recently, Pereira posted an Instagram story with the text “30+300=3“. This has fans beaming over a prospective face-off with the 30-year-old Aspinall, at the historic UFC 300 card. A prime reaction stated – “Pereira vs Aspinall would be an absolute banger of a Co-Main for UFC 300“.
Pereira, the Glory kickboxing champion also recently yielded over his active callouts on rival Israel Adesanya. At a Q&A session in France hosted for Ares FC 18, he mentioned foregoing the MMA trilogy with Adesanya. Conversely, he spoofing a face-off with former interim heavyweight Ciryl Gane has fans even more excited about his shift.
His friendly staredown with Gane and absolute ascension to two-division champion status have fans surging. Moreover, the latest tease has frenzied quite a handful of fans.

Tom Aspinall recently won the UFC interim gold at UFC 295. The 14-3 Briton won in way of a spectacular 69-second TKO against Sergei Pavlovich. He has recently mentioned Alex Pereira nitpicking him as a measured opponent, at the UFC 295 post-fight presser, just by glance.
“Poatan”, though infamous for his seldom antics, is usually of a stoic and stern disposition. Pereira is thus famous for his silent staredowns.
