Alex “Poatan” Pereira bagged the vacant light heavyweight title over 29-4 Jiri Prochazka at UFC 295. This correspondingly makes the Brazilian the 9th two-division entrant as a titleholder. MMA enthusiasts have very recently exercised the notion of him being able to rise to heavyweight, for 3-division glory at UFC 300. With Tom Aspinall recalling a very recent encounter with “Poatan” sizing him up, fans have solidified the notion even more.

In the absence of heavyweight 27-1 Jon Jones, Aspinall holds the interim heavyweight gold. Recently, Pereira posted an Instagram story with the text “30+300=3“. Pereira, the Glory kickboxing champion also recently yielded over his active callouts on rival Israel Adesanya. At a Q&A session in France hosted for Ares FC 18, he mentioned foregoing the MMA trilogy with Adesanya. Conversely, he spoofing a face-off with former interim heavyweight Ciryl Gane has fans even more excited about his shift.
