Alex Pereira will make his light heavyweight debut at UFC 291. The former middleweight champion appears relaxed ahead of his move to 205 pounds. However, a recent incident where an unknown individual tailed Pereira at a Walmart became a topic of discussion. During the fight week of UFC 291, ‘Poatan’ revealed more details about the encounter.

Alex Pereira said, “That video started as a joke. When I was leaving my house for Walmart actually USADA came to my house so, the guy had to follow me. I made the video pranking it like somebody was chasing me. Actually, it was a USADA guy” (H/T MMA Mania). Pereira had gone live on Instagram, where the fans spotted a guy tailing him.

Most of the fans thought that it was a Walmart employee that acted suspiciously. However, they were shocked to know that it was a USADA agent. Fighters and USADA have beefed on multiple occasions. One way or the other, a USADA agent will find some way to get under the nerves of a fighter. Paulo Costa and Jorge Masvidal have spoken about their frustrations with the USADA.

However, this time, Pereira did not mind the behavior of the USADA agent. The agent had to tail Pereira to ensure that the Brazilian fighter did not cheat in any way. This story will be remembered for ages to come. Pereira trolled the fans by revealing the presence of a creepy guy and later revealed it was a USADA agent. Despite the scary appearance of Pereira, he has a calm personality outside the cage.

The former middleweight champion Alex Pereira had a decorated kickboxing career before transitioning into MMA. The Brazilian fighter had 33 wins in his professional kickboxing career and had 21 KO victories.

The left hand of Pereira once left Israel Adesanya on a stretcher. Five of his 21 KOs came from a swift left-hand strike. The other KO came from combination strikes, but the left-hand remains a key element. The left hand has also translated well into his MMA career.

He knocked out Sean Strickland with a left hook and hurt Adesanya with those strikes. Ahead of his light heavyweight debut against Jan Blachowicz, he must utilize his left hooks to stop a bigger fighter like Blachowicz.
