Time and again, Volkanovski has hyped the fight bubble, prepping for his fights. He had summoned BJJ icon Craig Jones before his 10-day short-notice showdown against Islam Makhachev for UFC 294. Now, the fighter’s official YouTube account shows him sparring with fellow Aussie and welterweight rising star Jack Della Maddalena.

Jack Della Maddalena faces Gilbert Burns at UFC 299. Ahead of that, he trained with Volkanovski as part of Volk’s camp for UFC 298. The video showed the featherweight execute a backward BJJ hip throw and tumble Della Maddalena down. Alongside, the champ also engaged in some definitive striking. The sessions with the 170lber and Jones were right before the UFC 298 Media Day presser in Sydney.

A prime reaction to this, on X wrote, “Topuria is fu**ed…” During the pre-fight UFC Q&A session, Volkanovski divulged how his UFC 294 KO impacted his fighting strategy. He reiterated that the biggest takeaway was preparation being the key. Accordingly, he resolves to shed sweat and blood for the result.
