Alexander Volkanowski shares hilarious training footage with the Inspired Unemployed Podcast, talks about Zombie fight
Alexander Volkanovski
Alexander Volkanowski is turning into the perfect fighter one move at a time. Having mastered perfection inside the cage, the champ has been hard at work branding himself outside the cage. To this effect he now has a relatively popular easy-to-cook meal series on Instagram, simply titled “Cooking With Volk” and has made multiple podcasts across the internet with notable inclusions being Flagrant 2 podcast starring Andrew Schulz.
The Featherweight has champ also teamed up with local influencers from Australia, Jack Steele and Matt Ford, known for their popular Instagram account, Inspired Unemployed. In the video, the two influencers can be seen offering special tips to the Champion on how to beat his next opponent, the Korean Zombie.
After a brief pad work with Joe Lopez, Matt Ford asks the champion to demonstrate his approach against The Zombie on his partner Steele. This is followed by a leg kick that tosses, Steele to the ground, with Ford interjecting by saying, “That’s the last thing you wanna do mate”
Ford then goes on to demonstrate a rather effective tactic, wherein he asks Volkanowski to disparage his opponent by claiming to not want to fight and attacking once their guard is down. Following this the two hold pads for Volk, who immediately goes on to batter the two of them to the ground.
Alexander Volkanowski’s hands were sore due to The Korean Zombie’s resilience
The second half of the clip features an appearance by the champion on the Inspired Unemployed Podcast after the fight at UFC 273. He goes on to talk about how regardless of the brutality of MMA he still views it as a sport. “I can obviously see why some people see it as a “fight to the death,” says the champ meaning he can understand people who find it too gnarly.
About the Zombie fight, the Featherweight champ said, “I could see he was puzzled by what I was doing, you know? I started almost feeling bad towards the end” claiming TKZ to be too tough for his own good. Alexander Volkanowski kept wishing the Zombie would just go down as constantly hitting him was starting to hurt the champ’s hands themselves.
