Ali has been vocal about demanding a title shot for Islam Makhachev and a fight against Charles Oliveira. Charles defeated Justin Gaethje at UFC 274 but was stripped off his UFC lightweight title for not making weight.

Charles is now the number 1 contender and will face an opponent for the lightweight championship. Ali Abdelaziz believes Islam is the best fight in the division right now and Charles should fight him. Ali, in an interview with ESPN, talked about a fight between Charles and Islam.

Ali feels Charles is not the best fighter in the division and he is avoiding Islam because he knows Islam will beat him and become the champion Ali said: “Dana White himself don’t think he’s [Oliveira’s] the best lightweight in the world. Sean Shelby understands this game in and out, he knows this is not, that he’s not the best lightweight. Hunter, Mick, all of them, they don’t think he can beat Islam. Personally, I don’t think he can beat Beneil too. In reality, if you’re world champion, especially in a promotion like the UFC, the best fight the best here. If you’re not willing to fight the best, it’s fine.”
