Fighters in the UFC always manage to create creative content during a training session. After a training session, Aljamain Sterling, Chris Curtis, and Curtis Blaydes recently recreated a Pokemon meme. They used the evolution line of Machop for their skit, and it fits perfectly well as Sterling is a bantamweight, Curtis is a middleweight, and Blaydes is a heavyweight.
Fans have started to use the Pokemon analogy to describe their favorite sports star. Recently, in the sports world, the evolution line of Charmander went viral, featuring NBA stars. Fans created a meme with Alperen Sengun, Domantas Sabonis, and Nikola Jokic with the Charmander evolution line. Similarly, the UFC fighters used the Machop evolution line to complete their skit.
Aljamain Sterling remains in training to fight against Sean O’Malley at the Boston PPV in August. He could establish himself as the greatest bantamweight fighter if he can defeat O’Malley in August. Sterling has indicated a desire to fight in the featherweight division and challenge Alexander Volkanovski for the title. However, he will need to solve the puzzle of O’Malley before deciding on his future.
On the other hand, Chris Curtis and Curtis Blaydes had a setback recently. Curtis lost against Kelvin Gastelum, and Blaydes lost to Sergei Pavlovich. Both American fighters have title aspirations and will need to improve to overcome their deficiency and challenge for the title. They remain in training, awaiting their next fight in the UFC.

Aljamain Sterling sees similarities between Alexander Volkanovski and Henry Cejudo

The bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling wants to compete for the featherweight title. He believes in being a more dangerous matchup for Volkanovski than any other fighter in the UFC. Sterling also pointed out some similarities between Volk and Henry Cejudo.
Sterling said, “I think the thing that makes the fight between myself and Volk interesting is — people can say, ‘Oh, he’s gonna crush you in one.’ These guys keep saying this. Not the fans, the actual other people who just have something to always harp on about. I think the thing we both bring to the table is the fight IQ and being able to make those adjustments. I think that’s for me the challenge just like it was for Henry.” (H/T MMA Mania)
Volk has indicated his desire to rematch Islam Makhachev for the lightweight title. He also has the challenge of Ilia Topuria ahead of him. Hence, it would be interesting to see if Volk accepts the challenge of Aljamain Sterling.
