In the aftermath of the controversial win at UFC 259, the majority of fight fans didn’t consider The Funkmaster(21-3) as a real champion. He proved the doubters wrong by defeating Petr Yan the second time by Split Decision at UFC 273, retaining his title in the process. After losing at the hand of Marlon Moraes back in 2017 at UFC Fight Night 123, Aljo bounced back racking up a 7-fight win streak.

On the other hand, Henry Cejudo is a former UFC Double Champ. He held the Flyweight as well as the Bantamweight title simultaneously back in 2019. After fighting Dominick Cruz on May 9, 2020, at UFC 249, Triple C (16-2) announced his retirement from professional fighting. In recent times he is teasing a UFC return to fight for the title. Triple C is also back in the USADA testing pool.

The Funkmaster is set to face the former champ in Dillashaw at UFC 280. Ahead of the fight, The champion did an interview with The Schomo on YouTube. The Funkmaster gave a blueprint to Sean O’Malley to beat Petr yan, O’Malley is scheduled to fight Yan on the same card. Upon being asked about the former double champ Triple C, Aljo discussed why he doesn’t take him seriously and that Triple C should sign a bout agreement first.

Upon being asked by The Schomo, “How come every time, you do a face-off with Henry Cejudo, you can’t keep a straight face, The Schomo sees, you’re joking behind the scenes over there, How come you don’t take him seriously Aljo?”

The Funkmaster replies stating, “I can’t take Cedudu seriously until he actually jumps in the pool (USADA), which he is now. And I can’t take him too serious until he actually steps in there, has his bout agreement signed and he’s gonna actually fight. So when you’re serious you could bend the knee.”
