Recently, Aljamain Sterling has been taking fans on a roller coaster ride. One moment he is aspiring towards another bantamweight rerun. The next moment he is clashing with CEO Dana White and his henches. One moment he is giddy about his featherweight debut at UFC 300; the other he is critiquing UFC 288 and UFC 292 for having ‘underperformed’ in PPV numbers. Now, the former champion has divulged on letting loose after August.

The 23-4 MMA, 15-4 UFC bantamweight lost his title to Sean O’Malley, at UFC 292. The 135lber is thus shifting on to featherweight, at UFC 300. The fighter weighs in at 180lbs naturally, when not cutting weight. He does however tend to bounce back to divisional standards rigorously at fight nights.

I do wonder how much I’m going to blow up to after the fight...Whenever I make 135, I’m almost – just about the last five years, I’ve pretty much always hit 180.

At the historic UFC 300 card, Sterling locks horns against Calvin Kattar. This is at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. This weekend though, he faces Kevin Dantzler in the Fury Pro Grappling 8 headliner. Previously, the fighter had mentioned working on his cardio game and maintaining ground control for prolonged sparring periods.

On January 19th Sterling supposedly also faces Chase Hooper at the Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi. The fighter has been logging in some serious grappling training ahead of it. Fans have, however, not been piqued the right way going forward. One concerned fan took to X to ask”Does this mark the end of the Sterling era?“. Most others have however indulged in touch of a cynical undertone.

Fans react to Aljamain Sterling’s revealing poor UFC 300 prep conditions, after the last loss

Former UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling admits he overindulged after losing his title. He last lost the title gold to Sean O’Malley in August. The 135lber is shifting up to featherweight recently, but his slobby gain is otherwise unrelated. The 135lber usually fluctuates back from his 180lbs state fairly quickly.

Many fans have nudged that he is already formulating excuses for a corresponding loss at UFC 300. Others have questioned his professionalism as a mixed martial artist. Specifically given the fact that during said period, he was constantly demanding a title rematch against Sean O’Malley.
