“India is here” – Anshul Jubli puts the entire UFC on notice after defeating Kyung Pyo Kim in the semi-final of the road to UFC

Anshul Jubli of India defeated Kyung Pyo Kim of South Korea on Sunday at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi in the lightweight class at the Road to UFC semifinal. Jubli, who displayed great initial play and quick hands and timing for the first five minutes, appeared to sting Kim a few times in the opening round. The South Korean “Red Horse” rallied back in the second round, his constant pressure and powerful shots appearing to wear on Jubli.
They fought tooth and nail for the final five minutes of the third round, with no quarter requested or granted. In the end, Jubli won the bout via split decisions.
In his post-match interview, Jubli declared the arrival of India in the UFC. Speaking to Laura Sanko he said, “Namaste ufc, India is here India is here”. The Uttarakhand-based fighter has moved to the final of Road to UFC and will be facing Jeka Saragih in the final of the tournament to earn a UFC contract.

Jeka Saragih has moved to the final of the Road to UFC along with Anshul Jubli. Jeka Saragih fought Wonbin Ki previously to reach the finals. In the first round, Jeka Saragih landed an absolutely huge right hand on Wonbin Ki. that instantly brought their lightweight semifinal bout to a close and advanced the Indonesian fighter into the tournament.
Talking about the punch the fighter said: “Yeah we train it we drill it. It’s not a lucky punch…I am happy because all of my sacrifice, all of training is fruitful, and am thankful to the god”. Soon after the fight ended Saragih took all of his cornermen down as a celebration gesture.
Saraghai was also present to watch Anshul fight and soon after the fight ended he came inside the octagon for a face-off. Both the fighter posed for a picture and wished each other.
The date for their final showdown is yet to be announced by the UFC. However, if Jubli manages to win at the finale, he would be the second fighter from India to compete in the UFC after Bharat Kandre.
