Arman Tsarukyan is an Armenian-Russian professional mixed martial artist. He competes in the Lightweight division of the UFC. Tsarukyan stands with a professional record of 20 wins and three losses. He found inspiration to join MMA from none other than Russian superstar Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Known as “Ahalkalakets”, Arman Tsarukyan gained attention for his skills and achievements in the sport. A recent video of him was making its rounds on social media. In that video, he talked about who inspired him to get into MMA. This is what Arman said: 

That would be Khabib Nurmagomedov. I learned about the UFC because of him...I watched clips of his fights and wanted to become a fighter. During my time he was the role model. Khabib is the symbol of hope for people like me.

Arman Tsarukyan is scheduled to face Beneil Dariush in a lightweight bout at UFC Austin in the first week of December. Both fighters are highly ranked in the lightweight division, with Dariush holding a record of 22 wins, five losses, and one no-contest. Khabib Nurmagomedov had a remarkable undefeated career in the UFC with a record of 29-0-0. He retired after his victory over Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 in October of 2020. Widely regarded as one of the greatest MMA fighters, Khabib held multiple records. That included an unparalleled 29 consecutive wins in the lightweight division. His legendary career earned him a spot in the UFC Hall of Fame. Many of the experts and peers acknowledge his greatness in the sport, solidifying his status as a legend.

There he expressed confidence in their ability to “f**k them up.” During the interview by Nina-Marie Daniele, he said:

 I'm going to say Yoel Romero. You get that guy at 24 years old, holy smoke!... Just to like, switch it up, Khabib, man, because he has that style that maybe the aliens are cr*zy good strikers, maybe they don't like that grappling style...Oh… Dustin Poirier, because he's going to lay people out. Even if those aliens are good at standup, we're gonna f**k them up.

Jorge Masvidal and Khabib Nurmagomedov have connections both in and outside the Octagon. Khabib defended Masvidal when he faced legal issues, expressing dismay over the situation.

Jorge Masvidal retired from MMA after a four-fight losing streak, culminating in a loss to Gilbert Burns at UFC 287 in April 2023. Masvidal, 38, acknowledged that age had started affecting his performance, leading to his retirement decision. However, Masvidal has left the door open for a potential comeback, stating he could come back in the future.
