“Waste of time” – Arman Tsarukyan trashes Dan Hooker and shows no interest in potential fight
Arman Tsarukyan not interested to fight Dan Hooker
There might be a time when Arman Tsarukyan would have fancied a fight against UFC lightweight Dan Hooker but not anymore.
The rising UFC lightweight prospect does not believe veteran has anything to offer on the table. Arman Tsarukyan has finally begun to receive the recognition he deserves as he awaits the main event bout against Mateusz Gamrot at UFC Vegas 57. The fighter had previously called out a Kiwi fighter Dan Hooker for a fight but was turned down multiple times.
Following his four-fight winning streak, Arman believes a Hooker fight does not offer him a boost to the top of the table. Arman recently spoke to James Lynch of MMA News and talked about his chances of fighting Hooker in the future. The lightweight prospect says he will turn down an offer to fight “The Hangman”. “No, no now he is not a good fighter. Before, yes,” said Tsarukyan on his interest to fight Hooker.
Arman Tsarukyan mocks Dan Hooker for losing streak
Hooker has been fighting in the UFC for the past 8 years and is probably going through the roughest of patches in his career. The fighter came in on short notice to fight Islam Makhachev only to lose the fight in under two minutes. Hooker then moved down to the featherweight division and faced another devastating blow against Arnold Allen at UFC London.
“He lost his last two or three fights, and he beat someone from the unranked guys [Nasrat Haqparast]. He’s not interesting for me, because it wastes time to beat him…There’s no point to beat him now,” said Arman talking to James Lynch of MMA News.
Tsarukyan is currently 18-2-0 in his professional mixed martial arts career. His only loss in the UFC is against top-ranked title contender Islam Makhachev on his debut. His recent win against Joel Alvarez was an absolute stunner and his upcoming fight against Gamrot could potentially see him breaking into the top 10 rankings with a win.
