“Let’s go jump Colby”- Belal Muhammad drops an amusing idea as Dustin Poirier asks for a fight

Colby Covington

Dustin Poirier last fought for the lightweight title against Charles Oliveira at the main event of UFC 269. He started the fight pretty well and scored some knockdowns to throw the champ off of his game. Oliveira showed incredible resilience and came back stronger to choke out Poirier in the third round to retain his belt.

The fight went down back in December 2021, and Poirier claimed he was not sure if he wants to return to the octagon. He was having a hard time finding motivation for a fight, and just as he was about to give up, an opportunity for a fight against Nate Diaz came up. Diaz was actively looking for an opponent, and Dustin was the first one to respond.

These two had some serious back-and-forth on Twitter, and both parties accuse each other of not accepting the fight. After a while, Dustin claimed Nate is not interested in this fight and he wants to retire, this news was confirmed by Nate himself, as he publicly asked the UFC to release him from his contract. He doubled down on his claim when they tried to make a profit from his brother’s NFT.

Another possible fight that came up was against his former teammate, Covington. These two hate each other, and Colby called him out after beating Jorge Masvidal. During the post-fight interview, he said, I just took care of Miami Street Trash, now it’s time to take care of Lousiana Swamp trash. Where you at Dustin Poirier, You Cuck. I’ll see you soon, You’re next.”

Dustin replied to his call-out but no official contracts were signed for the bout. Dustin is getting eager to get back inside the octagon, and in a recent Tweet, he called out for the same. He wrote, “I want to fight.”

Belal Muhammad dropped a rather amusing plan, he wrote, “Let’s go jump colby.”

Dustin replied with a laughing emoji, but a fight between these two would be very interesting. Colby claimed Dustin is a natural welterweight, and he’d love to take him in a welterweight contest.
