Former MMA fighter Ben Aksren is ready to begin his redemption arc. The welterweight fighter’s value tanked pretty hard after he was knocked out in under 5 seconds by Jorge Masvidal. Askren later retired due to medical issues but now is willing to come out of retirement to settle the score with Jorge Masvidal.
Before being signed by the UFC, Ben Askren was the undefeated welterweight champion at One FC and Bellator. Askren even managed to defeat the former champion Robbie Lawler via submission during his UFC debut. However, all that changed after he fought Jorge Masvidal. Gamebred ended up knocking out Askren via a flying knee in five seconds of the first round and set a record that is yet to be broken.
Askren later lost his bout to Damian Maia and retired from MMA. Ben was also knocked out by YouTube boxer Jake Paul during their boxing match which brought a lot of hate to Askren’s name. With both Masvidal and Askren out of the fight game, Gamebered mentioned that he is ready to come out of retirement to fight Ben Askren once again. He also added that he will even box his former opponent so that Askren does not get knee’d in the face again.
To this Ben Askren texted UFC President Dana White and asked him to make the fight. With the ball in Masvidal’s court, he suggested that he will fight Jorge in an MMA bout if it ever takes place. “No, I’m not gonna box Jorge. If Jorge was really a BMF he will accept a rematch in MMA and not be a coward,” tweeted Ben Askren. With both fighters ready to fight, only time will tell if Askren can redeem for his shameful loss.
When Jorge Masvidal joined hands with Jake Paul to roast Ben Askren
Despite being undefeated for over a decade in MMA, Ben Askren’s reputation took a huge hit after fighting Jorge Masvidal. He was knocked out in under 5 seconds via a flying knee and was trolled very hard for it. He also managed to get knocked out by Youtube boxer Jake Paul that has had fight fans roast Askren mercilessly to this day.
Even the problem child came up with an idea and grouped with Jorge Masvidal to roast the retired fighter. Gamebred appeared on Jake Paul’s podcast and touched upon several topics. The duo even talked about Paul’s upcoming fight with Nate Diaz. Jake Paul later came up with an idea to troll their common opponent. He sent a picture of his fist and Masvidal’s knee to troll Ben Askren.
The picture was an obvious hint to Askren’s last two knockouts from Jorge Masvidal and Jake Paul. Regardless, Ben Askren has kept himself away from a life of fighting. However, depending on how things turn out he might soon come out of his retirement to fight Jorge Masvidal.
