“Freakin fraud!” UFC phenom Bo Nickal fires shots at wrestling legend Jordan Burroughs 

Bo Nickal is among the most prominent rising stars in the UFC middleweight division. A heated war of words has erupted between him and Olympic wrestling legend Jordan Burroughs. In a recent rant, Nickal labeled Burroughs a fraud. He believed that the world champion wrestler made everything about himself. 

Bo Nickal also accused Burroughs of fraud by publicly supporting programs like Penn State while privately disparaging them. Despite his claims, the UFC middleweight did not think Burroughs acted like an ambassador for wrestling. Nickal had nothing nice to say about the six-time world champion.

To me, it just shows his character. And the thing that bothers me is that nobody sees this. He always tries to act like he’s an ambassador of the sport and, ‘Oh, congratulations to Penn State. I’m so proud of you guys and what you’re doing.’ Bro, you’re a freakin fraud. You just want to make it about yourself.

The bad blood stems from Burroughs’ commentary during the recent NCAA wrestling championships. The UFC phenom took exception to Burroughs suggesting he would target his opponent’s knee injury if facing Penn State’s Carter Starocci. Nickal claimed Burroughs showed fake friendships only to undermine others behind the scenes. 

The comments represented a serious escalation in tensions between the two elite wrestlers. Nickal also asked Burroughs not to act friendly with him when and if they met. What began with Nickal critiquing Burroughs’ commentary quickly turned into a character assassination. Nickal is set to face Cody Brundage at UFC 300. The UFC star has finished 3 of his four opponents in the promotion by submissions.
