Israel Adesanya has been the reigning middleweight champion for three years now since beating Robert Whittaker at UFC 243. After becoming the champion, Izzy has been unstoppable and has defended his title against tough opponents such as Yoel Romero, Paulo Costa, Marvin Vettori, Jared Cannonier etc. In most of the fights, no fighter was able to come closer to Adesanya let alone beat him. In his last fight, Cannonier promised to give Izzy his toughest challenge but it was all vain against the incredible reach and speed of Adesanya.

In order to beat Izzy’s championship reign many fans are putting their confidence in the new superstar, Pereira. The Brazilian is one of few individuals who has fought and beaten Izzy in the past which gives fans something to count on. Other than that, the fighter is undefeated in UFC and in his last fight knocked out Sean Strickland in the 1st round.

The rumours about his fight were already there and the hype around it is real. Adesanya also has a sneak peek about how we were discussing the fight months ago.

Without any surprise, UFC recently officially announced the fight between Izzy and Pereira which will be the main event of UFC 281. The event is set to take place inside the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York on November 12, 2022.

Adesanya also took his official Twitter handle in order to announce the fight and reveal his intentions abi the fight. Izzy mentioned that he is going to take his revenge against Pereira and it will end at UFC 281.

” ?? #UFC281
“Vengeance is mine, says the lord.”
Brooooo I said the same thing too!!
This ends here. Kill or be killed ⚔️ ,” wrote Adesanya.

It is surely a great match-up as Izzy has already defeated everybody else in the middleweight division and new challenges like this are always welcomed by the champ. However, in his last few fights Izzy has been getting a lot of criticism for playing it too safe and not going for finishes. It will be interesting to see if this fight will be all talk no walk or Adesanya will actually look for doing something more.
