The merger between UFC’s parent company Endeavor and WWE is the latest and biggest news in the sports and entertainment industry this week. Many fans and fighters are excited about the huge opportunities this merger brings to the table. While fans are busy making their fantasy matchups on Twitter, one fighter has taken this initiative himself.
Gilbert Burns has made up his mind and will slap Brock Lesnar if he shows up at UFC 287. Burns is slated to go head-to-head against Jorge Masvidal this week at UFC 287. Both men will be putting everything on the line for this fight. However, one of them seems to be picking another fight already. During his interview at UFC 287 media day Burns talks about his intention to fully slap Brock Lesnar. Durinho is ready to avenge Daniel Cormier after Lesnar shoved D.C. in the octagon and nearly started a brawl at UFC 226.
This comment came days after the UFC x WWE merger .” I think we can learn a lot from the WWE and vice versa. There’s also a good opportunity to slap Brock Lesnar in the face right? It’s a good opportunity”, said Burns as he laughed on it. “No, I’ve never met him, he’s lucky I’ve never met him. But, I want to slap him. He cannot push DC like that when he came all the way here in the octagon. I want to slap him in the face“, added Burns.
While this callout might seem amusing Brock Lesnar better be careful around Burns. Colby Covington is set to fight Leon Edwards next for the welterweight title. However, the winner of this fight will be the confirmed next contender for a fight against the champ.

With the UFC and WWE merger chances are we might see a lot of fighters moving from one organisation to other. There already exists a synergy between talents at UFC and WWE as fighters like Brock Lesnar and Rhonda Rousey join WWE. However, with this merger, there is another fight we might get to see. The fight between two UFC retired heavyweights Brock Lesnar and Daniel Cormier.
Lesnar had an intense encounter with then UFC heavyweight and light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier. After Cormier’s win over Stipe Miocic at UFC 226, he proceeded to call out Brock Lesnar. Lesnar who was present at the event entered the Octagon. Without wasting any time Lesnar confronted D.C. and shoved him right away. Cormier then said “Push me now and get slept later“, to the Beast.
Thankfully no big brawl took place as it was stopped after both fighters were separated. But, this callout had no effect as the fight never came to fruition. With D.C. Making a special appearance as a referee in WWE once and the recent new merger, chances are we might see both fighters go at it in WWE
