Cain Velasquez and his team have been fighting for the past four months to get a release from jail. The former champion in UFC was put in jail after he shot at an alleged child molester who happened to have harmed the fighter’s relative.
Cain Velasquez has been held since the 28th of February for an attempted murder charge. The fighter was arrested after footage showed him shooting at a car that carried, Harry Goularte, an alleged child molester, and his stepfather. Harry was alleged to have performed treacherous acts on several kids who were under age. A kid, who was a relative of Cain was alleged to be abused by Harry which led Velasquez to shoot at the car carrying two passengers.
Since then, Cain has been arrested, and a lot of support has been shown from UFC, and several other fighting aces demanding justice for Velasquez. Recently, MMA Junkie revealed that Cain’s attorney has filed a 246-page petition to the California Courts of Appeal asking for the release of the former UFC champion.

The judge that has passed orders during Cain’s past three hearings is, Judge Sheylna Brown. The judge believes Velasquez’s act was a sign of him going rogue and has deemed the fighter a risk to be let out back in society. The judge has turned down the plead for bail of the fighter all three times. Velasquez is expected to be at another hearing on August 5th and also a plea hearing on August 19th.
According to Velasquez’s attorney, and the documents collected by MMA Junkie, Cain was denied the due process of the California and US Constitutions. One of the very important factors that could favor the hearing toward the former champion’s side is that Velasquez has been very cooperative during this investigation and has shown reverence towards the court and the police.
