“Most cursed fighter” – Calvin Kattar’s devastating knee injury at UFC Vegas 63 leaves fan squeamish

Calvin Kattar snaps his leg at UFC Vegas 63
The end of UFC Vegas 63 was definitely not how the fan-favorite Calvin Kattar would’ve wanted to play out. His brutal knee injury turned out to be a spoilsport for what was shaping up to be a great main-event fight.
UFC Vegas 63 took place a the UFC Apex in Las Vegas and what was a great Fight Night took an uneventful turn in the much-anticipated main event featherweight fight between Calvin Kattar and Arnold Allen. The fight ended due to TKO (injury) as Kattar ended up damaging his knee.
The Massachusetts native appeared to have hurt his knee in the first round of the main event. Arnold Allen from the UK decided to attack the veteran’s legs in the second round which forced Calvin to call for the fight to be stopped. This year has really turned out to be the worst in terms of injuries for the UFC. Kattar’s main event stopped due to injury is the fourth fight of the year with an uneventful end.
The first round was shaping up to be an even battle from both Allen and Kattar. However, the scores lean towards the UK fighter. From the replays, it appears that Calvin broke his knee after going for a flying knee attempt in the first round after which he landed in an awkward position. It is not a good sight to see a veteran like Kattar blow his knee out at the age of 34.

Kattar has been very unlucky in the past few fights. In 2022, Kattar has fought thrice and is 1-2. His previous loss against Josh Emmett was an unlucky decision that went against him. Fans reacted to their favorite losing the Allen fight via knee injury on Twitter.

Damn it. Calvin Kattar compromises his right knee in the first round and fight ends quickly in the second because of it. Arnold Allen looked great, R2 TKO. Really hope Kattar avoids something serious but doesn't look good.

Calvin Kattar probably tore at least one extra ligament by taking that extra leg kick. He shouldn't have been let off the stool and his corner failed him #UFCVegas63 #MMATwitter
