Dana White recently declared who is the GOAT (Greatest of All Time) in the UFC. White compared the careers of Khabib Nurmagomedov and Jon Jones and came up with the winner. Here is what happened:

Dana White recently went on the Games With Names podcast hosted by Julian Edelman, who is a former Super Bowl MVP. The age-old question of who is the GOAT in the UFC came up and Dana White picked Jon Jones. The UFC CEO said:

Greatest of all time is Jon Jones. Jon Jones is undefeated. Khabib was undefeated too but I would have liked to see Khabib do more. Jon Jones has been around forever, he's fought everybody in the light heavyweight division. Now he's in the heavyweight division beating guys.

He highlighted Jones’ undefeated record and compared him to Muhammad Ali. Despite Khabib’s retirement in his prime, White’s decision favored Jones’s active status and achievements. Khabib Nurmagomedov went out with 29 wins and 0 losses in his MMA career. He fought 13 fights in the UFC, with 7 of which fights were stoppage victories. He is the only UFC champion to retire with a perfect record. Nurmagomedov retired from MMA in 2020.

Meanwhile, Jon Jones has fought 27 fights in his professional career, 23 of which were in the UFC. He holds multiple records in the light heavyweight division. That might include the most wins and the longest win streak in the division. Jones became the youngest UFC champion in history at age 23 by defeating Shogun Rua in the 205-pound division. He is a former two-time UFC light heavyweight champion and has 13 title defenses to his name.

Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov are two of the biggest stars in UFC history. The two of them had one of the most intense rivalries in the sport. The rivalry dates back to when the two were stars in the lightweight division.

The rivalry became physical at UFC 223 when McGregor attacked Khabib’s bus after an altercation between Khabib and his teammate. Their fight at UFC 229 broke all UFC pay-per-view records and drew in over 2.4 million fans. Khabib won the fight when he submitted McGregor after a highly intense fight.

Dana White recently revealed on the Games with Names podcast that Russian President, Vladimir Putin gave Khabib Nurmagomedov and his father $20 million worth of property in Russia. He also said that Khabib received cars, money, and gyms from well-wishers in Islamic countries.
