“They should’ve brought more people,” Chael Sonnen addresses beef with Jorge Masvidal and warns fighter to bring more ‘buddies’ to ambush

The beef between Jorge Masvidal and Chael Sonnen is getting heated day by day. Only recently, Sonnen was locked up in a hotel with two security guards due to a threat from Masvidal. The incident happened when Sonnen visited Miami for UFC 299 duties. Now, the all-American wrestler warned his foe about a possible scuffle between them.

Recently, Chael Sonnen joined Henry Cejudo and Kamaru Usman in their ‘Pound4Pound’ show. The host couldn’t resist asking Sonnen about his feud with Masvidal. As such, he detailed it in his usual witty style. The former UFC fighter also placed his dominance against ‘Gamebred’ in a potential skirmish between them, even if Masvidal had allies. As such, he also believed Usman and Cejudo would agree to it off-screen.

If I saw Jorge Masvidal, he probably has 3-4 buddies with him and I’m alone. After a very brief skirmish they would realize they should’ve brought more people. That is a very very bad call. If you guys were to discuss this with me outside the room, you were aware I would whip Jorge Masvidal.

Further, Chael Sonnen admitted to being on steroids and insinuated it would help beat Masvidal. ‘The American Gangster’ has earlier admitted to using PEDs. It was a main target point for Masvidal to instigate Sonnen. However, the animosity between the two former UFC fighters started when Sonnen had a verbal argument with MMA journalist Ariel Helwani, and Masvidal sided against Sonnen.

Currently, Chael Sonnen and Jorge Masvidal have exchanged heated words and only continue to extend their beef. With many old fighters making a return to the sport, the two MMA icons can settle their beef inside a cage or a ring. As of now, ‘Gamebred’ has a fight booked with his past rival Nate Diaz.

What did Chael Sonnen say about the threats he received from Jorge Masvidal before UFC 299?

Chael Sonnen acted as an MMA analyst for ESPN. As such, he made his visit to Miami to cover UFC 299 which was the most stacked fight cards in recent memory. However, he didn’t stay at the athlete’s hotel. He was escorted to a different place along with two armed guards because of threats from Jorge Masvidal. As such, ‘The American Gangster’ took to YouTube to inform the fans of his situation.

Masivial had earlier threatened to ‘break Chael Sonnen’s eye orbital’ in an interview. Further, all the words aimed at Sonnen were violent. Since Miami was Masvidal’s hometown, Sonnen was protected as a precaution from potential danger. However, Sonnen felt he was locked up and explained his situation to the public.

I am at a separate location than everybody else with two security guards because I have been threatened by Jorge Masvidal.

Chael Sonnen further addressed that the protections were not of his choice. As such, he was confused about the whole situation, given Sonnen’s background in martial arts. He retired from active competition in 2019 after an illustrious career.
