Bobby Shmurda broke into success years ago, but it was short-lived due to major legal issues. A recent opinion by the rapper has received harsh criticism from UFC legend Chael Sonnen.
Ackquille Jean Pollard, popularly known as Bobby Shmurda, was a pioneer in the drill music genre in the US. His success and fame came from songs like ‘Hot N*gga’ but died off soon enough due to his legal problems. Shmurda was only released six years later, in 2021. US drill music, and Bobby Shmurda have not managed to break into mainstream success ever since.
But in recent news, Chael Sonnen took notice of Shmurda’s opinions. In a recent interview with Jake Paul, the rapper asserts that if you’re over 21, you can’t have “OPPS.” As per new urban lingo, OPPS indicates “opponents” or “opposition.” This terminology took some time to register for Sonnen, but his reaction wasn’t positive once he understood.
Chael Sonnen stated, “Whether he intended or not, he’s now got OPPS.” No one knows why Chael decided to react in such an intense manner, but no one’s surprised since the fighter is known to be controversial.
Chael Sonnen impresses fans with his special knowledge of the MMA business
Ariel Helwani, Joe Rogan, and Chael Sonnen are a few of the most prominent reporters of the UFC and MMA. Proof of this can be seen when Chael Sonnen joins a video call with Ariel Helwani to discuss upcoming fights of the year. The surprising part is that Sonnen got every prediction right back in April. It seemed almost impossible for anyone to predict the future of the UFC months before the official announcements.
The main event fights were announced between Islam Makhachev, Charles Oliveira, Khamzat Chimaev, and Paulo Costa just a few weeks ago. But Chael had revealed such information in April this year in a very detailed manner.
Such sound knowledge of the ins and outs of the industry can go a long way for any reporter with his career. Sonnen has shown his expertise in such matters after years of following the sport with keen interest.
