Chael Sonnen- Israel Adesanya vs Jared Cannonier

MMA Legend Chael Sonnen has given his verdict previewing the main event of UFC 276 come this weekend taking place Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, United States. The main event comprises Israel Adesanya making his fifth title defence as the middleweight champion of the world against Jared Cannonier. Adesanya is a scary fast striker who’s ranked #3 in the pound-for-pound rankings and Cannonier is often considered the dark horse of the 185 lbs division.

Adesanya is undefeated at middleweight and Cannonier is a veteran in fighting in at least 3 weight classes including the middleweight, the other 2 being light-heavyweight and heavyweight and fair enough, Cannonier has knockout victories in those divisions as well. Adesanya is coming off his fourth title defence against preceding champion Robert Whittaker in a rematch and in that same fight card of UFC 271, Cannonier did fight as well when he defeated Derek Brunson via TKO.

Chael Sonnen believes Adesanya’s capacity to refocus is an elite mindset at hand

In a video stating his official prediction for the aforementioned main event of UFC 276, Sonnen gave a calculation of both the fighters’ chances of winning via the analysis of their mindset, however, he only had to pick one name to be most likely the winner and he is standing with the majority of the MMA community in this one.

“Of course, I am taking, [Israel] Adesanya, so are you,” says Sonnen “There’s always time to refocus if you’re Izzy [Adesanya’s nickname]… he’s gonna start to focus on the task at hand, which is Jared, that’s Izzy’s approach, but he can always get real serious even if it’s for an hour, he get real serious and locked in that exact same mode that Jared’s living in, he could do that in 5 minutes…” he continues.
