Chael Sonnen has appreciated the move by Paddy Pimblett to help Paulo Costa cut weight for his upcoming fight. Paulo failed to make weight n his last fight, and this has led to Paddy offering to help Paulo make weight for his next fight on July 20. Paulo fought Marvin Vettori at UFC Fight Night and the fight was supposed to be a middleweight bout. However, Paulo missed the weight by 26 pounds and forced the bout to be changed to a light heavyweight at 205 pounds.
Paulo was forced to give up 20% of his fight purse for not making weight and he also suffered a loss in the match. Paulo Costa has a professional record of 13 wins and 2 losses and as he prepares to return to the octagon to fight former champion Luke Rockhold, Paulo is looking for some help to cut weight. Paddy Pimblett is known for shocking weight cuts before the fight and Paulo asked Pady to help him make weight by July 20. Paddy has accepted to help Costa and asked him to join to him in Liverpool.
Chael Sonnen has reacted to Paddy helping Costa, and he believes it is a great idea. Chael, in his recent video, said: “It was a cool move and I’ve never seen it before. I know they’re not friends. They’ve probably never met. I like it.”

Chael Sonnen has made a bold statement about Paulo Costa ahead of his fight against Luke Rockhold. Sonnen believes Costa will miss his weight for the second time in his fight against Rockhold. Paulo has been attracting a lot of questions about his weight cut since his weight miss against Marvin and many believe Costa should fight at 205 instead of 185.
Chael talked about Costa missing weight and said it is likely that he will miss it again. He even raised a question that how much of a miss Rockhold will allow before still deciding to go through with the fight.
Chael in his recent video talked about the fight and said: “What is the number that Luke will go through with this, anyway? Because Paulo can’t make weight. Paulo will not make weight. I’m not looking into some crystal ball here. We know as human beings we get smaller with time. We know about the work ethic and the training of Paulo Costa.”
