Chael Sonnen is not the one to break the news first, but if he did it this time, it was a big one but disputed. Sonnen is a Youtuber who formerly competed in MMA for 2 decades and retired in 2019. Sonnen is the former multiple-time UFC title challenger. Today, he is one of the most successful YouTubers representing the MMA community. During his time of fighting, his list of wins includes the likes of Wanderlei Silva, Quinton Jackson, Michael Bisping, Mauricio Rua, Brian Stann and many more.
What stands out looking at Sonnen’s career is not his record and his skill set, but his aura as a speaker when he used to rule the press conferences. Sonnen is widely regarded as one of the greatest trash talkers of all time, who was really good at psychological warfare since he was really articulate and humorous with his words. Not only that, Sonnen understood the nuances of the fight business and the knowledge is what he transcends towards his fans through his YouTube channel today.

In one of the videos on his YouTube channel, Sonnen talks about how come UFC fighter Khamzat Chimaev‘s weigh-in debacle can be considered his first-ever loss in the UFC career and what’s next for The Borz. Chimaev is one of the most well-known fighters on the planet today. More than his exceptional skill set as a fighter, Chimaev too stands out because of his persona of having a crazy attitude of “to kill or be killed.”
Sonnen then reveals an interesting story that happened to him quite recently and it involved him getting breaking news where the unknown source told him about Chimaev’s next fight which was also “signed and done” between both the parties, including Chimaev and his supposed opponent.
“I got the beep the other day from a phone number that I didn’t recognize,” says Sonnen. “It’s telling me an inside scoop, already signed and done, is Paulo Costa vs Khamzat Chimaev, fight to be announced tomorrow, they’re feeding it to me… so I screenshot that and do send it to somebody that does like to break news, my buddy, Ariel Helwani. He said- I got that same number, it’s a scam, block him. So I blocked him… but son of a gun, I like that match!”
