Retired MMA fighter Chael Sonnen is one of the most popular names in MMA. Sonnen is very active on social media and always has his takes on matters. Sometimes, it has come at odds with fighters. Jorge Masvidal had a spat with Sonnen, and recently Sonnen criticized bantamweight contender Cory Sandhagen. Sandhagen was a recent guest on the MMA Hour, where he took a sly jibe at popular fighters in the division, Sean O’Malley and Umar Nurmagoemdov.
Chael Sonnen has a cult following. A fan famously sang a rap song praising Sonnen at the pre-fight press conference of UFC 175, where Sonnen ironically could not fight due to a doping violation. Sonnen took a page from that incident to criticize Sandhagen as he tweeted rap lyrics. Nonetheless, this is what Sonnen tweeted.
It ain't rocket scienceChael Sonnen via X
Or nuclear fission
You got no friends or allies
In the entire division
One day YOU’RE gonna realize
On this you can bet
You don't get what you deserve, Son
You GET what you GET

Sonnen’s reason for the outburst came from the perceived weakness he saw in Sandhagen. UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley had impressed Sonnen with the way he utilized opportunities in the UFC. O’Malley had a business-minded attitude as he followed the mantra of Sonnen – fighting the weakest fighter for the most money. Sonnen saw that both Sandhagen and O’Malley got the same platform but utilized it in an entirely different manner.
Sonnen recently hosted the pre-fight press conference for the highly anticipated Bellator vs. PFL fight card. Moreover, the former UFC title challenger has done analyst and desk work for almost all the mainstream MMA promotions. Post the acquisition of Bellator, fight fans expect Sonnen to have a big role.
Chael Sonnen’s rap lyrics on X trolling Cory Sandhagen
Cory Sandhagen was the victim of Chael Sonnen’s recent activity on the social media platform X. Sandhagen had earlier remarked in an interview with Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour that the fight game is essentially a popularity contest. In addition to Sonnen, Sean O’Malley also mocked Sandhagen brutally.

Sonnen did not waste too much time as he even made a rap song to humiliate Sandhagen. Nonetheless, this is the lyrics of the rap song:
I should have made a case for myself
And told Rogan the truth
Now J’m down here at Pawn Stars
Hocking my one gold tooth
It ain’t rocket science
Or nuclear fission
You got no friends or allies
In the entire division
One day YOU’RE gonna realize
On this you can bet
You don’t get what you deserve, Son,You GET what you GET
You don’t improve with age, boy,You ain’t French wine
Chael Sonnen via X
And it ain’t like Country Dancin’
Where you get in line
It’s more like rock & roll
Don’t let a chance pass
You’re Jungle Jim Morrison
or you’re out on your a**
Cory Sandhagen does not employ much trash-talk in the game. Therefore, he is not as popular as other fighters in the division, such as Sean O’Malley and Umar Nurmagomedov. Moreover, Sonnen was one of the pioneers of trash-talking in MMA. Therefore, Sonnen might have taken offense to Sandhagen’s remarks.
