Former UFC champion Henry Cejudo recently had some advice for Charles Oliveira. Cejudo pointed out Oliveira’s major flaw, which he believed affected his performance against Islam Makhachev. Here is what happened:
Henry Cejudo recently did a breakdown video of Charles Oliveira’s loss to Islam Makhachev at UFC 280 on his YouTube channel. Speaking on the Brazilian former champion’s composure, Cejudo said:
Whenever it is that Charles Oliveira got hurt, like, you could see it, you would be able to see it. I feel like he came out of that, but I think a little bit of that when he fought Islam, and he admitted it, it's like his composure go out the window.Henry Cejudo via YT
Cejudo said that this is where Charles Oliveira could use a sports psychologist well. He said that if Charles could accept it, he would be able to maintain his calm while going through such intense fighting sessions. If Charles Oliveira wins his upcoming fight against Arman Tsarukyan, he could get another title shot against Islam Makhachev.
Oliveira faced previously faced Islam Makhachev for the vacant UFC lightweight championship. Oliveira lost this fight to Makhachev in the second round. Makhachev successfully submitted Oliveira, thus becoming the new UFC lightweight champion.
Charles Oliveira’s upcoming fight against Arman Tsarukyan at UFC 300
Charles Oliveira will face Arman Tsarukyan in a No. 1 lightweight contender bout at UFC 300. The fight will take place this April in Las Vegas, Nevada. Oliveira is a former lightweight champion taking aim at another title shot against reigning champion Islam Makhachev.
The winner of this fight will solidify his position as the lightweight division’s next title challenger. Oliveira’s opponent, Arman Tsarukyan, is a Russian-Armenian MMA fighter competing in the UFC’s lightweight division. He boasts a professional MMA record of 21 wins, three losses, and 0 draws.
Tsarukyan is currently on a three-fight winning streak, having recently defeated Beneil Dariush, knocking him down in the first round. He expressed this fight against Oliveira as a significant opportunity for a shot at Islam Makhachev’s UFC lightweight championship. This builds up the fight for a highly exciting showdown at UFC 300.
