UFC 77 in Las Vegas saw a very awkward situation faced by Daniel Cormier. A women’s fighter named Ailin Perez began to twerk after her win against an opponent in the octagon.

Ailin Perez set the record in the UFC bantamweight division for women with the most number of takedowns at UFC Vegas 77. This has allowed fans and other fighters in her division to recognize her skills in the octagon. Although Ailin Perez has come a long way with her fight game, the event also showed fans one of her ways of expressing her excitement.

Perez couldn’t contain her joy and began twerking in front of the camera after winning the fight. Although the people around her broke into what seemed like amusement due to her actions might be something else. Former UFC champion Daniel Cormier was in the octagon since he was supposed to take the interview for Ailin Perez after the win.

Few post-match interviews end up with the winner (Ailin Perez) twerking. Therefore, it was very valid for Daniel Cormier to feel slightly awkward.

However, former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira noticed the sly look given by the translator present for the interview. One fan tweeted, “His tongue was out.” Check out some other reactions:

It might not be entirely professional to twerk in the octagon in front of everyone, and it should probably be discouraged in future circumstances. But this act from Perez was clearly out of emotion and can be understandable for the time being.
