Charles Oliveira is confident after the final face-offs against Islam Makhachev that he will get a first-round knockout victory at UFC 280 main event.
The stage is set for two of the best lightweights in the world right now to get their hands on the vacant title. Charles Oliveira is fired up ahead of his fight and has shown amazing intensity in the lead-up to UFC 280. After staring down Islam Makhachev for one last time before they head into the octagon, “Do Bronx” sees him knocking out Makhachev in the first round.
After the intense stare-down at the ceremonial weigh-ins, Oliveira talks to BT Sport about the emotions heading into this fight. “He knows exactly what’s going to happen. He’s surfing a wave that is not his,” said “Do Bronx”. The Brazilian is also confident the fight won’t get past the first round.
“Greatest knockout [you’ve] ever seen. I’m gonna knock him out in the first round,” said Oliveira in his official and final prediction for the lightweight title fight. Makhachev is also coming to finish the fight before the final bell. This only means fireworks in the octagon. Oliveira also mentioned that he is “illuminated” and will come out victorious after the fight.

Charles Oliveira is the underdog heading into this fight and he feels disrespected by his opponent’s team. Islam Makhachev believes he has better skills than the Brazilian and is confident about taking the belt back to Dagestan. With both the fighters hitting their primes, there is no doubt the fans are in for fireworks this weekend.
UFC 280 will take place at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. The pay-per-view event has two title fights and is as stacked as a fight card can get. The main event between Oliveira and Makhachev is undoubtedly the most-anticipated fight of the card.
