UFC returns to London at the end of July after their successful event at the O2 Arena earlier this year. The promotion has a heavyweight matchup between Curtis Blaydes and Tom Aspinall headlining the event while Liverpool fighter Darren Till was booked to fight in the co-main event. Unfortunately, owing to an injury last moment, Till seems to be out of the exciting Fight Night event.
Chris Curtis is the man of the moment as he agrees to step in with only two weeks left for the event. The fighter is really excited to fight veteran, Jack Hermansson in the co-main event in front of amazing fans at the O2 Arena. In a recent tweet, Curtis revealed why he agreed to step in on short notice against someone of Jack’s level. The Action Man was one of the first fighters to offer themselves to replace Till as soon as the news of injury broke out.
Chris Curtis is delighted to check The O2 Arena off his dream venue list
In a recent tweet, Curtis wrote, “3 places I always wanted to fight- Maddison Square Garden Saitama Super arena The 02 Arena. How could I say no?”. All the three arenas that Curtis mentioned in his tweet are a dream for fighters. UFC London will be held at the O2 Arena and The Action Man can delightfully check that off his bucket list.
Chris has been an absolute fan favorite since his introduction to the UFC. The fighter has a record of 29-8 in his professional career and has a lot of experience as a pro fighter. He made his first appearance in the UFC octagon in the year 2018 for Dana White’s Contender Series. After his fantastic KO, he was signed by the promotion.
Since his signing, Curtis is 3-0 in the UFC octagon with two amazing finishes. His last fight was very recent on June 25th against Rodolfo Vieira. Just one month later, Curtis will be fighting in one of the best Arenas in the world. Are you excited to see The Action Man?
