“He busts his ass”- Chris Curtis jumps to Darren Till’s defence after UFC London withdrawal
Till has been pulled from the UFC London card due to an injury to be replaced by Chris Curtis
The current #9 middleweight contender, Darren Till, hasn’t competed since September of last year, when he lost to veteran opponent Derek Brunson in the main event of UFC Vegas 36 via third-round rear-naked choke submission.Following his most recent injury setback, the native of Liverpool, who was forced to withdraw from a scheduled co-headlining matchup against Jack Hermasson on July 23 in the English city, has vowed to return “stronger.”
Following Till’s decision to pull out of his rescheduled fight with Hermansson, the promotion moved quickly to replace the Liverpudlian with Chris Curtis, an experienced veteran from Ohio who will face the #8-ranked Swede in a significant co-main event landing pad.
Chris Curtis made a threat to destroy Jack Hermansson in UFC London
After filling in for the injured Darren Till on July 23, UFC middleweight Chris Curtis has vowed to defeat Jack Hermansson. Curtis recently used Twitter to address the Norwegian, who was born in Sweden, and his supporters. He was obviously optimistic about his chances of defeating him.
Chris also took to Twitter to address the status-quo to English fans who were keen on seeing Till fight, he stated, “I know all the English fans are frustrated and gutted with @darrentill2 pulling out but guys, at this level injuries happen a lot. Especially when you train hard. I know Till, he busts his ass. But I promise you me and Jack will try to give you guys some proper entertainment. Here is the said Tweet:
Till who is reaching his prime, was searching for his first victory since 2019 after missing the previous 10 months due to injury. After they were supposed to fight last December, Till has had to back out of a bout with Hermansson twice. The news will be disappointing to UFC supporters who hadn’t seen Till compete on home turf since he lost to Jorge Masvidal in 2019.
