Ciryl Gane fought his second consecutive headlining event in Paris against Sergey Spivak. He won the fight via TKO in the second round. In the inaugural UFC Paris main event, Gane defeated Tai Tuivasa in the same way. However, his recent victory had some complications in his private life.
Gane’s house was robbed during the event. The estimated loss of property is valued at more than 150,000 US Dollars. Gane, who had a spectacular performance at UFC Paris, would now have to think about security for his house. Police sources believed someone close to Ciryl Gane might have tipped the robbers off for the robbery. No arrests or suspect detainment have happened yet. With the UFC event happening in Paris, the robbers might have planned ahead, knowing that the whole city would be attentive to the UFC event.
Ciryl Gane is the former heavyweight champion in the UFC. He challenged for the undisputed title twice but was unsuccessful. In his first attempt, Francis Ngannou won a unanimous decision, while in the second attempt, Jon Jones submitted Gane in the first round. The fight with Ngannou was very close, with Ngannou coming back from 2 rounds down to win the latter three rounds. He surprised Gane with wrestling and won the bout via decision. On the other hand, Jon Jones destroyed Ciryl Gane at UFC 285.
After the victory over Spivak, Gane voiced his desire to be the undisputed champion. With Stipe Miocic and Jon Jones battling it out at UFC 295 and possibly retiring, Gane along with Tom Aspinall and Sergei Pavlovich are next in line to be the champion.

Sergey Spivak had no chance against Ciryl Gane at the second UFC event in Paris. The current version of Ciryl Gane remains superior to the one that faced Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou. Ngannou and Jones beat Gane due to his deficiency in wrestling.
The improved takedown defense helped Gane attain a victory over Spivak. Gane, with an improved takedown defense, is a scary matchup for anyone. His striking and footwork remains the best in the division. Gane would be closely looking at UFC 285 as it has the potential to decide his next move.
If Jon Jones wins at UFC 295, the chances of him getting a rematch against “Bones” remain low. However, Sergei Pavlovich can be the next title challenger if Miocic or Jones wins the fight. Pavlovich is on a 6 fight-win streak and would pose a significant threat to Gane.
