Colby Covington will have a third crack at the welterweight title at UFC 296. Covington showed up to fight weeks in style; this time, it was no different. Recently, TNT Sports personality Adam Catterall interviewed Colby Covington.

During the interview on TNT Sports, Covington described his inspiration for his flashy and flamboyant style. This is what he said:

It's the most beautiful suit I've ever worn. I don't think I could ever lose wearing a suit like this. So then, of course, I got my chaos chain, you know, some chains, you know, my Rolex. So styling and profiling, man, just like Ric Flair.

The inspiration for Covington was none other than the “Nature Boy” Ric Flair, a legend in the professional wrestling circuit. Covington’s suit has a customized picture of Donald Trump, the picture of when the government indicted him. Moreover, Trump has also signed the suit worn by Covington.

Covington is not the first fighter to take inspiration from Ric Flair. UFC lightweight Michael Chandler is close friends with Ric Flair. Chandler’s callout after his victory over Dan Hooker on his debut reminisced the iconic callout of Ric Flair when he debuted in WWE, then WWF. Chandler and Flair recently had a hilarious scripted interaction that went viral on social media.

Donald Trump is very popular among UFC fighters. Many fighters support Trump. Colby Covington is the most vocal supporter of the former US President, and the two share a close friendship. Covington talked about his admiration for Trump in his interview with Adam Catterall of TNT Sports.

Catterall asked why Covington admires Trump. Covington was very passionate when he talked about Trump. This is what Covington said to Catterall in the interview.

He saved our country, you know, he kept inflation low, he kept our borders secure, he kept everybody safe in this country. He cared about our military, which I care about so much, and he just did so much for this country that we don't have anymore. ..... President Trump for what he's doing. I'm so thankful he's coming out.

Covington is a fan of Trump for his policies. Trump was and still is pro-American in his policies, which was not the case under Joe Biden. Covington and Trump share the same ideologies when it comes to politics and international relations.
