Colby Covington had a nightmare performance against Leon Edwards at UFC 296. The main event title fight failed to deliver particularly after their heated press conference exchange. Since then, Covington appeared on numerous right-wing podcasts and voiced his opinion on numerous matters.
Now, on Fox News, Covington thrashed USA Boxing for their new policy that allowed transgender women to box against cisgender women. This is what Covington said about it.
It's despicable. Biological men shouldn’t be allowed to compete in women’s sports. Doesn’t matter what their hormone levels or pronouns are, they’re still biological men.Colby Covington via Fox News

Covington is vehemently against the policy. Moreover, he finds the practice could have fatal consequences if biological men compete against biological women. Furthermore, he also finds the practice to be very unethical. He also urged people who support the policy to seek help for mental well-being.
After the loss to Edwards, Covington dropped down to 5th in the UFC welterweight rankings. He has now set sights on a fight with Stephen Thompson, who also lost at UFC 296. Moreover, he has since stated that his subpar performance was due to an injury he suffered in the match. However, there is no proof available of it.
USA boxing’s transgender policy
The transgender policy of USA Boxing applies only to athletes over the age of 18. Minors can only compete in their birth gender. Moreover, for adults, there are strict regulations for both transm*n and transwom*n. Both should undergo sex reassignment surgery. Moreover, they should provide quarterly hormone testing four years after surgery.

For transwom*n, the testosterone level should be 5 nmol/L for the past 2 years before entering the ring. For transm*n, the testosterone level should be above 10 nmol/L. Trans athletes should meet these criteria for the entirety of their fight career. If the athletes do not comply, USA Boxing has provisions to suspend the athletes for a year.
Fighters and fans alike criticized the decision. Many found the decision as an appeasement strategy of USA boxing to appeal to the woke liberals. Trans athletes’ participation is a controversial topic. UFC commentator Joe Rogan, UFC welterweight Colby Covington, and UFC CEO Dana White are against the practice.
