Colby Covington lost to Leon Edwards at UFC 296. Dana White criticized Colby Covington as “slow” and “old” following his defeat. UFC CEO Dana White expressed disdain for Covington’s performance. He emphasized that Covington’s age and perceived lack of speed contributed to the loss.

Speaking about the title fight at the UFC 296 post-fight press conference, Dana White said: 

I think he looked slow tonight. He got outwrestled. Leon looked good. Leon looked fast. Looked like he had trouble dealing with his speed and then getting outwrestled too. And not to mention the fact that Leon absolutely destroyed that leg too.
