After returning from a year-long hiatus, Colby Covington regularly appears on podcasts and interviews. This time, he made an appearance on Michael Bisping’s BYM podcast. After Dana White announced Colby as the next contender for the Welterweight title at UFC 286, he has actively promoted his upcoming title fight. Since then, he has been taking shots at everyone. Appearing on Michael Bisping’s podcast, Colby revealed the fights offered to him.
Colby said, “I accepted to fight C**shot and Dustin Poirier“. Colby offered to fight Khamzat Chimaev, but Chimaev jeopardised the fight by missing weight against Nate Diaz at UFC 279. Chimaev has since moved to the Middleweight division after weight-cut problems. Colby claims Dustin Poirier did not want to fight him.
Colby Covington fighting Poirier or Chimaev would have been exciting for the fans. Unfortunately, it did not materialise. Khamzat Chimaev will possibly get an opponent in the Middleweight division next, whereas Poirier will likely rematch Justin Gaethje or some other Lightweight contender.

Colby is getting the next shot at the Welterweight title. Two of Colby’s losses came against Kamaru Usman. However, Leon Edwards defeated Usman twice. Hence, it is an intriguing fight for fight fans. UFC is trying to book the Welterweight title fight for the PPV card at International Fight Week.
Leon Edwards thinks Colby Covington is a product of Dana White Privilege
The reaction remains mixed on Colby Covington getting the next title shot. Belal Muhammed, Jon Anik and Jorge Masvidal have condemned the UFC for giving the title shot to Colby. Champion Leon Edwards feels the same way, but he claims that Colby has Dana White Privilege.
“(Colby Covington is) getting rewarded for not taking fights. When it was me, I got removed from the rankings. So this Dana White privilege is definitely real.”

In an interview with Ariel Helwani, Leon Edwards said, “Colby is getting rewarded for not taking fights. When it was me, I got removed from the rankings. So this Dana White privilege is definitely real.” Edwards feels that Champions deserves to pick the contenders, which Dana White has refuted.
The contract for the Welterweight title fight remains unsigned. UFC is actively trying to book the fight for International Fight Week in July. Only time will tell if UFC and Edwards agree regarding the Colby fight.
