“All this guy does is pay pro*titutes for video!” Colby Covington SLAMMED for using Donald Trump’s name after UFC 296 loss by Jorge Masvidal

Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington still share one thing in common - their support of Donald Trump; which Masvidal hates.

Welterweight Colby Covington has caught flak left and right from fight fans and peers. Gilbert Burns threw shade on his supposed foot injury excuse at UFC 296 against Leon Edwards. This was in light of ‘Chaos’ disclosing X-ray results from a broken foot in the title skid. Concurrently, Ian Machado Garry had vowed to drag and defame Donald Trump’s favorite fighter in a probable future fight. Covington maintains a healthy relationship with the ex-president. Now, his old rival Jorge Masvidal trashed Covington again.

From sparring partners and friends at American Top Team (ATT) to bitter rivals, Masvidal has done it all with Colby. In pure chaotic fashion, he attacked Colby Covington after their fallout outside a Miami steakhouse. Even recently, he went off on Covington for his embarrassing UFC 296 performance. And he does it yet again, in a sitdown with content collective BroBible.com. This is what he said:

For starters, I never met such a fu*king hoe in my life, such a bit*h, you know? He doesn’t know anything about politics. He literally just attaches his name to Trump, hoping that Trump will one day tweet his name or maybe show up to a fight and things like that... All this guy fu*king does is throw his money away, and pay for pro*titutes to be in his fu*king video...

Once friends for life, Donald Trump is now the only connection that joins the two. Hence, Jorge Masvidal ripped off rival Colby Covington for using Trump’s name, attributing to his title loss. Covington, now 17-4 MMA, 12-4 UFC, is coming off a lopsided skid to reigning champ Edwards. He later blamed judge bias on Trump for faulty scoring.

Masvidal, who’s also an adoring Trump supporter, thus went off on Covington for bogusly accusing UFC 296 judges of being anti-Trump. Time and again, here and then, Masvidal has teased a shift to boxing. Rumors suggest Masvidal will return to box Nate Diaz in 2024. On the other hand, Covington has not retired but will likely fight in the summer of 2024.

Jorge Masvidal achieves closure on assault lawsuit with Colby Covington

This past year, Jorge Masvidal finally became a free man, fresh from a lawsuit’s shackles. The lawsuit involved none other than former friend and training partner Colby ‘Chaos’ Covington. Their rivalry spawned a momentous grudge match at UFC 272, which Covington won.

‘Gamebred’ attacked Colby in front of a steakhouse after losing against him at UFC 272. Masvidal later pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor battery charge in a Miami-Dade County court as part of a plea deal with the state of Florida’s prosecution team. Owning up to a lone misdemeanor battery count, he finally put the matter to rest. He later took to social media to reflect on it.

His attorney, Brad Cohen, reported that all charges were dropped accordingly.  ‘Gamebred’ found closure on the case. Masvidal did not spend any time in jail nor pay a hefty fine. But, he still upholds his enmity with Colby Covington to this day. He often goes off on Covington for his deliberate association with Donald Trump.
