Confirmed: UFC and Dana White still chasing Kamaru Usman vs. Leon Edwards for 170lbs title

Kamaru Usman and Leon Edwards
Dana White believes the Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman fight will take place right after Usman is ready to fight. After defeating Colby Covington for the second time at UFC 268, Usman announced that he will have a hand surgery. The fighter anticipated that the surgery will keep him out of the octagon for some time and it has been proven right.
Currently Kamaru Usman is recovering fast but is not at all in his 100 percent. The fighter is confident with his right hand and doesn’t want to get ahead of himself. If not taken care seriously, Usman can suffer some extreme repercussions which will affect his career. In a recent interview with MMA Underground, the ‘Nigerian Nightmare’ opened about his injury and mindset regarding it. He said :
” The issue with tendons is there is no blood flow there, especially when they’re in your hands. So it takes a lot longer and not just that way. It’s also right on top of my knuckle. It’s right on that money maker right there…If I don’t give it the appropriate time to heal properly, then I’m just going to split that right back open and I’m out for a whole year, potentially worse.”
