UFC 300 is shaping up to be one of the stacked cards in UFC history. As such, the UFC has already announced many blockbuster fights. However, the main event remained a mystery, keeping the fans on their toes. Now, UFC star Conor McGregor hinted at being a part of the historic card. But, his earlier announcement of fighting Michael Chandler in June contradicted this and left the MMA world confused.
On New Year’s Eve, Conor McGregor unveiled he would face Michael Chandler in International Fight Week at the T-Mobile Arena. The news thrilled the MMA community since ‘The Notorious’ finally announced a date for his return. However, he now took a turn and indicated headlining the monumental UFC 300 fight card. In his recent tweet, the Irishman wrote:

The tweet insinuated that he was the missing piece (Main Event) for the UFC 300 fight card. Although Conor McGregor’s earlier announcement felt legit, the UFC didn’t report it officially. Even when questioned about it, UFC CEO Dana White didn’t give a clear answer and just stated the UFC would announce it. As such, McGregor’s recent tweet captured the attention of the MMA world and made them speculate about the possibility of ‘The Notorious’ fighting in UFC 300.
Conor McGregor will finally return after a gruesome leg injury. His rumored opponent Michael Chandler also posted a cryptic message on social media regarding the comeback fight. The timing of Chandler’s and McGregor’s tweets could indicate something big could happen. McGregor headlining UFC 300 would make it a phenomenal fight card.
Michael Chandler hints at UFC 300
Per Conor McGregor’s announcement, Michael Chandler will face ‘The Notorious’ in a middleweight bout in June 2024. As such, it was the first time ‘Iron’ even came to know about the fight date. However, Chandler recently hinted at fighting in UFC 300. It could probably be a fight with Conor McGregor since he also insinuated the same in his tweet.
The UFC recently released an image of the lineup for UFC 300. With many spectacular fights on the historical card, the UFC kept the main event a surprise and didn’t announce it. As such, they left the first spot as ‘To Be Decided.’ Now, Michael Chandler reshared the picture and quoted ‘T B D …’ hinting he might be in the unannounced spot.
UFC 300 is a monumental feat in the history of the promotion, and the UFC strived to deliver a top-to-bottom stacked fight card. Many marquee fights were announced earlier, including Justin Gaethje vs. Max Holloway, Charles Oliveira vs. Arman Tsarukyan, and Jiri Prochazka vs. Aleksandar Rakic, to name a few. The inclusion of Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler in UFC 300 would top all these and serve as the cherry on top.
