Conor McGregor has always been the talk of the town. But his new project may have shot his superstardom to another level. McGregor recently ventured into Hollywood and made his acting debut with Road House starring beside Jake Gyllenhaal. Now, Conor McGregor is being compared to Hollywood legend Arnold Schwarzenegger as his debut movie breaks record.

McGregor recently posted two pictures on X. One is a bare-chested photograph of him in character, with ‘Knox” (his character in the movie) written all over. The other is a quote from Mystic MMA that read: “Conor McGregor is this generation’s Arnold Schwarzenegger”.

McGregor even did a bold scene that nobody expected to see from McGregor in the movie. Early on in the movie, we are greeted with a bare shot of McGregor’s backside, one which went viral on social media. The Notorious later addressed this viral moment and said that Arnold Schwarzenegger did it during his time, so he has no problem with it.

Unfortunately, the former UFC champion’s movie could not make it to a theatrical release and was rather released on Amazon Prime. However, it still broke several records by boasting 50 million worldwide viewers in its first two weekends, making it the platform’s biggest-ever debut.

Conor McGregor earlier refused a film with Vin Diesel

Conor McGregor played the antagonist against Jake Gyllenhaal who plays the role of a disgraced UFC fighter. However, it is interesting to note that this movie was not the first project the UFC star was offered. He must have received many lucrative offers for a debut on the big screen. However, McGregor had walked out of one particular project that was a big opportunity.

McGregor reportedly canceled a role in XXX: The Return of Zander Cage with Vin Diesel because of a loss to Nate Diaz. Diesel revealed to a Brazilian TV program Giro Combate that McGregor was supposed to star in the 2017 blockbuster. However, Nate Diaz got the better of him in 2016 at UFC 196 which was also his first ever UFC loss.

Naturally, McGregor opted out of making his acting debut in 2017 and focused on his rematch with Diaz. Later that year, he came back with a win against Diaz at UFC 202. McGregor has since come a long way and is set to make his UFC comeback this year.
