UFC superstar Conor McGregor was devastated after his compatriot Katie Taylor was handed her first professional loss against Chantelle Cameron.

Katie Taylor competed against Chantelle Cameron in one of the most anticipated female fights of 2023. However, the fight did not go Katie’s way. She suffered her first career loss via a split decision against the British boxer. The Irish fanbase was devastated, including UFC superstar Conor McGregor.
Fans seemed devastated at the loss and took to social media to sympathize with the fighter. It was the first time that Katie fought in her country of Ireland. Unfortunately, she could secure the win in front of her compatriots. However, no one seemed more devastated than Conor McGregor. The ‘Notorious’ was filmed offering his words of advice to Taylor.
Conor McGregor put his head down in disappointment as the decision was announced. He yelled, “Another amazing fight for you. Another day for Katie Taylor. Love you to bits, close.” A disheartened McGregor encouraged Taylor despite her loss. Chantelle Cameron fought very well and did enough to get the victory.
The Irish star always spoke highly of Katie Taylor. McGregor is often witnessed praising the boxer on her journey, and the two hail from Ireland. They have represented their nation at the highest level in combat sports. This time, the ‘Notorious’ sponsored the highly anticipated bout. However, his compatriot did not win the bout.

Conor McGregor scored a draw for Katie Taylor vs Chantelle Cameron bout
The Katie Taylor vs. Chantelle Cameron fight was warfare. Both fighters showed their skillset and power in the ring. However, Cameron did enough on the scorecard to win the bout. Taylor was handed her first loss in her professional career. One judge scored it 95-95 on the card.
However, two judges favored the British fighter and scored it 96-94 on the other scorecards. Although it was close, Cameron emerged victorious following a fantastic performance. Conor McGregor revealed that he scored the fight a draw. He said, “Great fight, close fight, I had it a draw.” “Give her [Katie Taylor] more time,” said the ‘Notorious’ when asked about a rematch.
Regardless of the outcome, the event was considered to be a successful one. The undercards of the fight delivered amazing fights for the fans. This was Katie Taylor’s first fight in her home country in a professional boxing bout. Unfortunately for Taylor, Cameron managed to spoil the day for the Irish fans.
