Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz are prominent MMA fighters who have had a significant history in the UFC. The duo clashed in one of the most highly anticipated matchups in UFC history. Most recently, Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz exchanged a few light jabs reminiscing their previous two matchups.
Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz faced off for the first time at UFC 196 in March of 2016. Diaz won this fight via submission in the second round. This fight was a major upset and garnered significant attention in the MMA world. Nate Diaz uploaded a picture of him front-kicking McGregor to the body on X ( previously known as Twitter). Conor McGregor came across this picture from Nate Diaz and took to the comment section to respond to it. He wrote, “Good shot…You can only kick with your right leg, albeit not greatly whatsoever…It’s long been noted”.
Following their first fight, McGregor and Diaz had a rematch at UFC 202 on August 20, 2016. McGregor won this fight via a majority decision, but it was a closely contested battle. McGregor took a picture of him hovering over Nate Diaz on the ground and wrote, “This wasn’t a guard pull attempt. It was a shut off of the conscious through sharp, blunt, trauma. A little put on your ar*e shot”.
However, some debate existed around the decision, as Diaz had landed more significant strikes. This fight was one of the most anticipated rematches in UFC history. These two fights between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz have played a crucial role in both fighters’ careers and remain memorable moments in UFC history.
Conor McGregor will not face charges of sexual assault in Miami
Conor McGregor has faced sexual assault allegations, but reportedly, those charges have been dropped. The UFC superstar will not face any criminal charges related to these allegations.
The allegations against Conor McGregor stemmed from an incident in Miami during an NBA Finals game. However, the state dropped the probe into the sexual assault accusations. This news gained attention on social media. CBS Sports reported that the State Attorney’s Office decided not to pursue charges against Conor McGregor in connection with the alleged assault. In addition to the recent incident, the New York Times reported allegations against McGregor in 2019 when he was under investigation by Irish police for sexual assault accusations.
Conor McGregor has been making headlines regarding his potential comeback to the UFC. After a hiatus due to a leg injury, McGregor re-entered the USADA testing pool. However, in September UFC CEO Dana White confirmed that Conor McGregor would not return to the UFC in 2023. Despite earlier speculation, it was reported that McGregor’s return to UFC action was delayed, and he wouldn’t return to the octagon until 2024.
