Conor McGregor had an illustrious career in the UFC prior to his exile due to a leg injury. McGregor later joined the UFC scene after nearly two years of absence with coaching at TUF Season 31. In one of the bonus footages just released, the UFC star revealed his favorite walkout of his career.
Conor McGregor is one of the biggest stars in UFC history. He had a significant contribution in uplifting the promotion to its current position. The moment Conor mentioned in the bonus video as his favorite walkout was one of the peaks of Conor’s career. He himself admits it as he says, “Yeah Newyork,… I was still the featherweight champion…I was moving up to 155…”.
Conor McGregor fought Eddie Alvarez in the main event of UFC 205 in the spectacular Madison Square Garden in New York. This was back in November 2016. Conor McGregor became the first fighter in UFC history to hold titles in two divisions simultaneously. It was the first UFC event in New York City and Conor McGregor did a memorable walkout to Sinead O’Connor followed by 50 Cent’s I Run N.Y. Conor termed it as his best walkout memory.
All of them were assembled at a luxurious Las Vegas restaurant. Conor treated them to a steak dinner and awarded them $1000 dollars each in casino chips after winning the Coach’s challenge against Michael Chandler. The 31 season of The Ultimate Fighter has come to an end with its final episode yet to be released. The bantamweight and lightweight finalists will square off at UFC 292 at the Boston TD Garden.
Conor McGregor’s return to the UFC Octagon
This year’s instalment of The Ultimate Fighter comes to an end featuring Conor McGregor’s second stint as coach. Although not as successful as his previous appearance, Conor is set to face off against his rival coach Michael Chandler later this year.
Conor McGregor recently revealed to talkSPORT that he will face Chandler later this year in December at UFC 296. However, McGregor’s current standing with the USADA regulations has raised concerns and confusion regarding his return. McGregor was supposed to re-enlist himself in the testing pool before stepping foot into the Octagon. Thus McGregor’s return in 2023 is only probable if considerable exceptions are entertained.
This has upset many fighters. They have voiced their criticisms and pointed out the hypocrisy of rules and regulations. They criticized the leniency and mockery of rules such a move would portray, simply because McGregor is the cash cow of the promotion. As such, no definite conclusions can be made. Only time will tell how McGregor makes his long-awaited return to the Octagon.
