Conor McGregor is clearly enjoying the promotion of his highly successful Irish whiskey brand, Proper Twelve. This iconic mixed martial artist co-founded the brand, and it has gained immense attention not only due to its association with the renowned fighter but also because of its unique character. Officially introduced in 2018, Proper Twelve has swiftly risen to prominence among whiskey connoisseurs.
In addition to its merits as a premium whiskey, Proper Twelve has thrived thanks to McGregor’s immense popularity and his unwavering dedication to its promotion. McGregor seizes every opportunity to showcase his whiskey, displaying a remarkable aptitude for marketing. Most recently, the former UFC double champion delighted fans by posting an image of himself recreating the iconic Spiderman meme, featuring his standees holding bottles of Proper Twelve.
At present, McGregor’s Irish Whiskey boasts a market value nearing the impressive figure of $600 million, and its ascent shows no signs of slowing down. Notably, the brand dedicates a share of its earnings to supporting local first responders and various charitable initiatives within the regions it serves.
This philanthropic commitment, coupled with Conor McGregor‘s charismatic influence and widespread recognition, has propelled Proper Twelve to a prominent position in the realm of Irish whiskey. It serves as a compelling testament to the idea that a brand’s triumph is not solely determined by its flavor, but also by the values and personality that contribute to its success.
Hollywood legend slams rival Conor McGregor’s whiskey brand Proper Twelve
Upon the release of his whiskey company, Jean-Claude Van Damme took the opportunity to share his review of Conor McGregor’s liquor. He discussed his thoughts on the quality and taste of McGregor’s whiskey, drawing from his experience as a whiskey enthusiast and a whiskey brand owner.

According to reports, Van Damme didn’t like the taste and essence of Proper Twelve. Van Damme commented that Proper No. 12 felt heavy on his throat when he tried it. He noted that it’s different from his Old Oak Irish Whiskey, which he described as smoother, a quality he preferred. Van Damme added a metaphor, comparing whiskeys to people, saying, “Every whiskey is like every woman or man; they all make love differently.”
Seems like the legendary actor is going full steam ahead when it comes to clashing with his rivals in the market. McGregor hasn’t yet responded to the claims but it will definitely be interesting to see both taking part in an online beef, backing their own products.
