Conor McGregor has not fought in the UFC since his loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. However, that has not stopped him from talking trash about some people that are associated with the world’s biggest MMA promotion. Moreover, all this time away from fighting seems to have encouraged him.
In the most recent event of him going after people in the UFC, McGregor threw shade at UFC commentator and personality, Joe Rogan. This was in reference to Rogan’s commentary during the Khabib fight. During the bout, Joe Rogan claimed that Conor landed an illegal knee onto Khabib during a grappling exchange at UFC 229.
Conor took to Twitter to respond to the incident that happened 4 years ago. He tweeted out a picture of his former opponent, Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone after their fight and captioned it, “That’s smashed up pal. @joerogan. You ever see me like that? Never.”
This is just one of the Tweets sent by Conor as he also posted a vicious voice recording about this on his Twitter. It seems odd that Conor has only now taken offense to this comment by Joe Rogan. However, it makes more sense when one realizes that Conor seems to have reignited his beef with arch-rival, Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Conor McGregor posts a scathing voice recording about Joe Rogan’s commentary during UFC 229
Conor has apparently been offended by Joe Rogan’s commentary during the UFC 229 event. This was made very evident by a long rant he posted about Rogan on his Twitter. ‘The Notorious’ did not hold back as he mocked Joe and his opinion about the knee McGregor landed on Nurmagomedov.
“I will smash my knee into his fu**ing eye socket, yeah?” said McGregor. He then followed it up with his best attempt at an American accent as he said, “That’s a knee to a grounded opponent, call the cops!” Followed by raucous laughter by the Notorious. He ended the rant by calling Joe a “fu**ing tick.”
Clearly, McGregor has held a grudge against Rogan for his commentary during the super fight. However, in a few other Tweets, Conor also explained his technique behind the knee, calling it the “Springbok.” He also called himself the “goat of unseen shots.” It seems Conor McGregor is not ready to let this one go as he continues to take more shots at both Joe Rogan and Khabib. However, only McGregor knows the agenda behind his attacks on the duo.
